December 2009 - After Meeting Notes

Happy Holidays to you all and your families! This is my favorite time of the year. For those of you who don't know I am originally from New Jersey. Born and raised and then relocated with Dave in 1997 to reside in Florida. While I miss my family and friends, I do not however, miss the cold and snow. We are blessed this holiday season with the opportunity to spend Christmas in Walt Disney World. It has been a long year with Dave being unemployed for nearly 9 months and having to save and cut back. But, luckily he did find work and Thirty-One has allowed me the opportunity to give our family this special holiday celebration. I hope wherever and whatever you do this Christmas you enjoy the time with family and friends and know that 2010 is right around the corner with a lot of opportunity for all of us.

We had our local team meeting this week and it was a celebration as well. Training was very minimal We did our recognition for November. See the team newsletter already emailed out this month. You all did amazing job working your business and sharing the gift of Thirty-One. I am blessed to have each of you on my team. Below are 2 things Courtney shared and I hope you use these ideas and implement goals and step outside your comfort zone in 2010!!! There is a lot to look forward to. If you are local our next team meeting will be January 30th from 9:30a-12:30pm at Courtney's home in Safety Harbor. If you are not local but would like to be connected with a local team meeting in your area, please email me to locate one for you. Code Word for our Consultant Piggy Challenge is "Resolution". If you did not attend our meeting then email me the code word by Christmas and you will get one ticket into the drawing. The challenge ends January 31st!!! The bank is growing every month.

New Year's Resolution Theme Party- By Courtney Hawkins:
Research says that the top New Year's resolutions are:
Get in shape
Go Back to school
Go somewhere
Get organized
Reduce debt and save money
Find someone special
Spend more time with family

At your January parties, try this fun theme party idea. Personally I am a fan of the gift bag show. I take 10 gift bags to my parties. Each bag has certain Thirty-One items included as well as a clue. The clues are anything that I want to be sure to mention at the party and include everything from the 31Kid catalog to the embroidery guide to an order form. For my January shows, I am going to follow this premise but each bag will be themed according to a popular New Year's Resolution and will feature products specifically for these 8 resolutions.

Here are the specifics:
Get in shape- Sport tote, zipper pouch, mobile mini purse, and storage tote. These products are perfect to take to the gym.
Go back to school- Messenger bag, adult backpack, cindy tote, laundry bag(for those going away to school). I would also mention the Thirty-One opportunity at this point and share how Thirty-One is perfect for the full or part time student because of its flexibility and income potential to help with costs of books, tuition, etc.
Get a better job- This is the perfect time to share the business opportunity! I would also share the skirt purse and talk about the flexibility and versatility of a career with Thirty-One.
Go somewhere - I would mention the trips and dream reward incentives offered by Thirty-One for their consultants and feature the weekender tote, large travel duffle and dome cosmetic bag.
Get organized - Organizing shoulder bag, organizing wallet, small totes, clipboard, etc.
Reduce debt and save money- Share the customer special and then the benefits of hosting a show. Feature the thermal totes. Hostess stack.
Find someone special - Stress cute. Bow purse, scarf, stationery to send notes and connect with others.
Spend more time with family- Again, share the business. Feature products like the aprons for BBQ and cooking together, large thermal containers and basket/tall picnic tote, beach bag for trips to beach or park, mag. basket to hold family books and photo albums.

The products are only suggestion. You may choose to put a twist on the party presentation by naming the New Year's resolution and having the guests find the products that fit with that resolution.

November 2009 "After" Meeting Notes

We had a local team November team meeting and shared alot of great tips and ideas. One of my favorite parts was that each Consultant shared there "Reisen" (candy) for being thankful for Thirty-One. It is great to hear all the different reasons why we all love Thirty-One. Be sure to share your "Why" or "Reisen" with someone after reading this blog. All our meetings include Celebration, Reward and Encouragement. So I would like to begin with the Celebration!! We had alot to be thankful for and to celebrate in October. Refer to the October Team Newsletter for full details of all the team's accomplishments but here are just a few highlights: Jen Tufford was our TOP in Dreambuilding and Sales. Whoo Hoo Jen! We also had 2 promotions to Sr. Consultant. Congratulations to Jessica Wright and Jacyln Vohden!! You all contributed to our AMAZING overall team sales of $171,081.44! There were 33 new downline Consultants added!!!

Encourage:
-Book and Look
We had alot of great training and tips that everyone shared during this segment. Thank you Ami Beery for sharing her "Book and Look" idea. There are many variations on this that will help boost your bookings at your parties. Ami had purchased 2 small holiday boxes at a local dollar store. In each box she puts a slip of paper that has a prize on it. When she talks about bookings she shares the boxes with her guests so that they will be enticed to book and then they can choose a box and see what prize that they will receive. Remember, they don't get the prize until their party is held. Other ways of doing the Book and Look is by using chinese restaurant boxes or using a Booking Tree (great for the holiday time now). You could use a small Christmas Tree and adorn it with small prizes like nail files or head bands. Or cut out dye cut templates of stockings and figures and write the prize on the cut out and place on your tree.
-Pop and Shop
Thank you Kerrin Laari for sharing her "Pop and Shop" idea for getting sales at vendor events. She puts small pieces of paper with a prize written on them and places them in blown up balloons. When someone places an order she will then have them choose a balloon to pop and see what prize they get. What a fun way to entice shoppers to make a purchase at the event. Plus it gets the attentions of onlookers who hear the "pop"!
-A Key to your Success
I shared a great idea given by Director, Sara Saleet on our weekly Director call. It is the "Magical Key Game". Items you will need to have for the party include: 1. Enough keys (or cut out paper keys) for all guests, 2. A Hostess treat and 3. A Guest treat. You will have to set the stage for the "Magical Key Game". Make sure you tell your customers that we now use the logo of a keyhole because Thirty-One can open so many doors of opportunity. We are going to play a fun game that will only touch on some fo the wondering things Thirty-One gifts has to offer. Make sure to always include the "Thank you Hostess" key and the "Magical" key. If you have a smaller crowd, make sure to include the keys that will help you with bookings and sponsoring. Take your collection of keys around and have the guest draw one from a zipper pouch( or better yet attach them to a product and as they are sharing the product features and ideas they can read the key as well). Make sure you keep out the hostess key and give it to her directly. Tell everyone that you are going to go around the room and when you get to them you would like for them to read the word on their key. When they read it, give a simple but accurate response. For instance, if their key says "$99, then you briefly share what that means or how it relates to Thirty-One. Obviously, that is regarding our New Consultant Kit. Whoever has the Magical Key will win the guest treat/prize. tell them how magical Thirty-One is and that they are just receiving a touch of Thirty-One opportunities.

Key Designs: You can design your key game however you would like. Here are some suggestions: Cut out an oversized key on poster board paper. Take a label with one of the words and stick tot he back and laminate. Cut out the keyhole and tie pretty seasonal ribbon through the hole. You can place a real key to your product and put a sticker on the back of the key. Hand out products to the guests. Have them read the key as you are talking about the product. They could also model the product.

Suggestions of words to put on keys:
Hostess, Dream Rewards, Director's Incentive Trip, $99, 31 Kid, Why?, 25% Commission, CER101 Training, National Conference, Bonus Checks, You are the KEY to my success (Hostess key), Magical Key (guest key who wins prize), etc.

Code Word: Give Thanks (email me with this and you will get one ticket entry into our Cash Rebate Piggy Challenge.

- Did you Know??
I shared some things that you may or may not have known.
Did you know.......
....Having the Thirty-One logo embroidered on a product- When placing your order just type in Thirty-One in the name field and your product will come monogrammed in the Thirty-One font

...National Map- There is a new "clickable" map on www.thirtyonetoday.com. Printable version coming soon
